I went to Tampa 2 years ago for the ACC Basketball Tournament. Tampa is a nice, clean city. Everything seems pretty new and they are really trying to build it up as a tourist spot. Here is some information for those traveling to Tampa for the ACC Championship:
Tickets
You can order your tickets through BC's website . Seats range from $57 for end zone and $120 for club seats. You can also order tickets to the pre-game hospitality event. Tickets are $50 and include buffet style food and drink, games, pep rallies, autograph signings, and a performance from Blake Shelton. Here is more information on Tampa's Raymond James Stadium, home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers an host of this year's Superbowl.
Hotel
The team hotel is the Renaissance Hotel in Tampa. The hotel is offering a special $169/ night rate for BC fans as long as you request the "Boston College Rate" (2 night minimum stay). Call 800-644-2685 or 813-877-9200 to book your stay. The hotel is "walking distance from the stadium".
Other nearby hotels include the Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Riverwalk, Marriott Waterside, Intercontinental, and the Quorum.
Airfare
Tampa International Airport is definitely the easiest and most convenient airport to fly into. The airport is right by the team hotel and the stadium. A quick look on Orbitz and Expedia showed round trip tickets ranging from $232 (US Airways-1 stop) to $403 (Delta & JetBlue-round trip).
Food
The Renaissance Hotel is home to the Pelagia Trattoria, a top rated Italian Restaurant. The team hotel is also located adjacent to the International Plaza, which is home to many shops and restaurants including The Capital Grille, a sports bar Champps Americana, and another popular bar Blue Martini.
Entertainment
Tourist attractions include Busch Gardens, Channelside Bay Plaza (a nice spot by the water with restaurants, bars, and more).
There will also be the Hillsborough Country Under Armour All-Star Game at 7:30 at Raymond James Stadium. Admission is free and the game will feature some pretty good players, including Georgia commit QB Aaron Murray. I haven't found an official roster for the game, but there are plenty of highly rated prospects from the Tampa region this year.
