BC played in Nashville in 2001 when they defeated Georgia. The game is held at LP Field, home to the Tennessee Titans. This will be Vanderbilt's first bowl appearance in 26 years and will also be played very close to campus for the Commodores. Vanderbilt made national headlines this year when they started off 5-0, earning a national ranking. Since then Vanderbilt has lost 6 of its last 7 games to finish 6-6 this year. They lost 10-7 to Duke and 23-10 against Wake Forest. Last year Kentucky defeated Florida State 35-28 in this same bowl game. Much more on this match-up will come as the game approaches.

Boston College Accepts Music City Bowl
BC will play Vanderbilt in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl Dec 31 at 3:30 in Nashville, Tennessee. Its not the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl, but its also not Boise. Obviously as ACC Runner Up you would expect something better, but the bigger bowls want a big name and a large crowd. College Football is a business and they want those ticket sales, which BC does not provide. That being said Nashville is not a bad destination. It is a fun city and should be pretty warm. Vanderbilt is certainly no football powerhouse, but this is a very meaningful game for them considering its their first bowl appearance in 26 years. Vanderbilt is also a highly regarded academic institution much like Boston College is.

I found a good destination guide for Nashville and it has some hotel discount deals as well.
