BC Takes 2 from Wake Forest

Boston College won yet another ACC series defeating Wake Forest 2 out of 3 games in Winston-Salem this past weekend. The team improves their record to 22-12 and 9-7 in ACC play. The team faces one of their toughest challenges yet when they host nationally ranked Virginia next weekend.

Game 1: Win 23-2

Senior ace JB MacDonald took a no-hitter into the 9th inning before allowing 3 hits. Still the senior managed to throw a complete game and got plenty of offense, led by Mickey Wiswall who finished with a 1 hr and 5 rbi. Freshman Brad Zapenas went 5-6 with 3 rbi and Mike Belfiore also had 4 hits.

Game 2: Win 4-2

John Leonard allowed 2 runs in 5 innings of work and Kevin Moran, who picked up the win, and Mike Belfiore each threw 2 scoreless innings of relief. Tony Sanches and Belfiore each went 2-4 with 1 rbi.

Game 3: Loss 5-3

Pat Dean allowed 1 run in 6 innings but the bullpen could not hold the lead as BC was unable to complete the sweep. Mike Belfiore hit 2 homeruns in the loss
