Where's the love for Spaz?

I know this is a few days old but Frank Spaziani came in 4th place in the ACC Coach of the Year Voting receiving only 2 of a possible 40 votes.

Considering BC was picked last in the pre-season and went on to win 8 games this year and contend for the Atlantic Division title is pretty remarkable. Nobody in the league did more with less talent or experience than Spaziani. I thought for sure he would earn recognition from the ACC and possibly as a national coach of the year candidate. That's how impressive this season was.

It is too bad that he has not received the attention and credit he deserves this season. Nevertheless, fans and supporters of BC should be proud of the job the team has done so far this season.

It's not surprising that spaz was overlooked by the ACC. After all, he coaches B.C, which seems to ALWAYS be overlooked by the ACC. Oh well, it just means we have to be that much better than the rest!

How does BC garner respect when they deserve it? ...hummm, probably by not being in the ACC.

The reason that BC gets no respect, and Spaz didn't, is the notion that football belongs to the good ol' Southern boy network. This is a problem with a Yankee team in a league otherwise dominated by southern teams.

Amen, brother.

Absolutely agree. BC gets no respect because of the whole southern bias. Every single year BC is predicted to lay an egg. And every year wildly exceed expectations. 2 ACCCG, then despite all the drama we had this year, we go 8-4. Yet no love. Just the way it always is.
